I took the inspiration for today's card from Lou Kitzleman, an Australian Stampin' Up! demonstrator. My card is different, but the same in that it uses the Best Birds stamp set and matching Birds and Blooms thinlits (available as a bundle with a 10% discount). It's also a window card.
The bird on the inside of the card is stuck onto a piece of acetate so that it creates some dimension and you look into the card.
To attach the piece of acetate I cut two pieces of Whisper White for the back and front of the card, and scored about 1cm in from one end of each piece. I folded over that piece and attached double sided tape, then sandwiched the piece of acetate between the two pieces of card.
I think it makes a simple but effective card. The birds were stamped onto watercolour paper that I coloured using inks and blender pens.
The Birds & Blooms Thinlits also have some flower dies, but as I was making this card for a man who liked birds I didn't use them.
I have plans for lots of different cards using this bundle.
I used the new Layering Ovals framelits to cut the hole in the card, but actually any shape would do, just make sure to position the bird on the inside so that it looks through the hold you cut.
News of a special Limited Edition bundle to come in my next post - available from August 2 to August 31 only. Don't forget that if you spend €60/£45 until the end of July you get a voucher for €6/£4.50 to spend in August, so you could use it on the time limited bundle.
