Stampin' Up! Pootler's Design Team challenge, Balloon Builders card

Stampin' Up! Balloon Builder meets Shooting Star

This is the last of my cards for the Pootler's Design Team challenge. Each Thursday in June me and four other Pootler's have been challenged to make a card with the Balloon Builders stamp set.

Today's card combines the Balloon Builders stamp set with the Sliding Star framelits dies to make a slider card.

I stuck two balloons together to make the slider, and made a little balloon dog. Then I stamped some balloons tone on tone in Dapper Denim, and painted them with clear Wink of Stella to add some oomph.

This month has been great, and I've loved the challenge of coming up with five different cards using the same stamp set.

Stampin' Up! Jar of Love card with vellum

Stampin' Up! Jar of Love card, with vellum

I've used another new stamp set and die bundle for today's card. The stamp set is called Jar of Love, and the dies are Everyday Jars Framelits.

The stamp set has 37 stamps! Great value for money. And, the stamp set and die bundle are available for a 10% discount.

Here, I've used vellum for the jar which I've heat embossed in silver. I've die cut some flowers, and stamped others to give a clean and simple card.

There are three different size jars with this stamp set, plus lids and labels, flowers and hearts, and a fish. I love how Stampin' Up! adds odd things like that.

This is one of those sets that you can use over and over, and you could make a great shaker card from it. Look out for one coming from me in the next few weeks.

Stampin' Up! Flower Patch card

Stampin' Up! Flower Patch card

Today's card uses a stamp set and dies that isn't new, but is lovely just the same. It's called Flower Patch and has been around for a couple of years.

Although I love this stamp set I've struggled with it a little - getting the bigger stamps to stamp properly hasn't been easy and so I've tended to stick to the smaller ones.

However, I recently discovered that if I used the roughest side of a nail buffer (not nail file) to kind of 'sand' down the surface of the bigger stamps I got much better results.

I've used both the stamp set and dies here, and used one of the sentiments with the set which I've heat embossed in gold.

The wood effect that you can see in the background I made with a stamp from the Timeless Textures stamp set in Sahara Sand. I've used Very Vanilla as the mat and card base so that the wood effect looked better.

Note to self - don't forget the old stamp sets you have in your excitement to use new ones!

Just before I go - if you've ever considered becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, then now is the time to do it. Until the end of June as well as the fantastic starting bundle (which you get to choose yourself), you can choose an extra two stamp sets!

So for just €129/£99 you choose €175/£130 worth of products, plus the extra two stamp sets, plus free shipping and extra catalogues for your friends!

After that there's no obligation! If you live in France, the UK, the Netherlands, Germany or Austria and I'd be honoured to have you on my team. If you have any questions please contact me.

Stampin' Up! Balloon Builders card, Pootle's Design Team Challenge

Stampin' Up! Balloon Builders card

This is my card for the fourth week of the Pootle's Design Team Challenge. For the month of June five of us are making a card each Thursday using the Balloon Builders stamp set.

You can't say this card is lacking in balloons can you. I made it with just two different blues  - Dapper Denim and Tempting Turquoise - but stamped off alternate rows to change the colour. I also made some masks using the Balloon Bouquet punch so that the balloons didn't over lap each other.

The strip of card along the bottom is Dapper Denim, and I have used Wink of Stella on the three punched balloons but it's difficult to see in the photos.

I heat embossed the sentiment in silver from the Birthday Blossoms stamp set.

Hope you like it!
