Stampin' Up Home for Christmas card with fussy cutting

Stampin' Up! Home for Christmas card with fussy cutting

Hello! I've been away from my blog for a couple of weeks due to family commitments, but I'm back now.

Today I have another Christmas card to show you. This one uses the Home for Christmas  DSP. The papers in this pack are great. Here I've used the Silent Night sheet music design for the background, and fussy cut the little smiling deer from another design.

The sentiment is from the Cozy Christmas stamp set. I've added three rhinestones for some sparkle, and used dimensional pads on the deer and sentiment to add some depth to the card.

A date for your diary - I'll be at the AIKB Christmas Fair on Sunday 6th December. This year it's being held at the Salle de Bel Air in Gouarec from 11.00am til 5.00pm. Come along and get some Christmas goodies!

Stampin' Up! Barnyard Babies watercolour cards

Stampin' Up! Barnyard Babies watercolour card

Isn't this card just lovely? Or should I say ducky!

These stamps come from the Barnyard Babies stamp set. It arrived last week and I'm so glad I bought it, I love it. I decided that I didn't have any stamps for children that I could also use for adults, and I think this set covers both.

Here I've stamped the duck three times and added the little chick at the end. I used Stazon ink on watercolour paper and then used the Aqua painters to colour them in with Soft Sky, So Saffron, Old Olive and Tangerine Tango.

I also made this card with a different stamp from the set

How sweet is that! There's also a horse, a goat, a cow and a pig - look out for those cards to come. And the sentiments are usable too - I sometimes think that the sentiments are a bit too bleurgh for me, but these work.

The background paper is from the Pretty Petals designer paper stack - 48 sheets of 6" x 6" (15cm x 15cm) paper.

Stampin' Up! Timeless Elegance card

Stampin' Up! Timeless Elegance DSP card

I don't often use DSP (designer series paper) on my cards. It's not that I don't like it - this for instance I love. It's just that it's a little bit out of my comfort zone. I have to think about how much to use, how to use it, where to use it - it's too complicated!

But this card actually is very simple as you can see. I've used a design from the lovely Timeless Elegance stack. All the designs are neutral, some floral and some patterns.

This paper has no colour, so I sponged some Pink Pirouette onto the flowers. Then added some Mint Macaron 1" dotted lace trim. The strip of paper on top of the lace is the other side of the main floral design.

Then I used a sentiment from Butterfly Basics and punched it with the Decorative Label punch. Very simple, but I think it works.

Below are some other designs from the Timeless Elegance series.

If you find yourself around Le Sourn (near Pontivy) this Sunday 11th October you could look in at the Royal British Legion's troc. On from 10.00am til 2.00pm I'll be there!

Stampin' Up! Peaceful Pines Christmas card, heat embossed, for World Card Making Day

Stampin' Up! Peaceful Pines Christmas card

Did you know that today, October 3rd is World Card Making Day? Today is a good day to get out all your card making paraphernalia and make a card for someone special. Well, any day is a good day to make a card of course, but today is an extra special day!

My card today is another Christmas card, this time using the wonderful Peaceful Pines stamp set. I love trees on Christmas cards so this it a wonderful stamp set for me. I stamped the tree in Old Olive, then used gold embossing power with Versamark to heat emboss the little baubles and pot.

I added presents around the tree - there have to be presents of course - using different colours. Then used the Lots of Labels framelit dies for the sentiment.

Inside I used a stamp from the Cozy Christmas stamp set.

Don't forget too that the Peaceful Pines also has some dies that go with it (Perfect Pines dies). You can buy them both together in a bundle and save 15%.

Wonder who'll be getting this one?!

Stampin ' Up! Sleigh Ride edgelits meets Cozy Christmas card

Stampin' Up! Sleigh Ride thinlits meets Cozy Christmas card

I know it's only just October, but it's time for making your Christmas cards!  The nights are drawing in now and it's not so warm so it doesn't feel too weird.

I just love the Sleigh Ride edgelits and have used them many times already. For this card I've used a Smoky Slate card background with Whisper White die cuts on top.

I cut out a circle and used the paper left around the circle as a mask to sponge the moon. Then added Santa on his sleigh from the Cozy Christmas stamp set. I used gel pens rather than a stamp for the snow.

Another great thing about the edgelits is that you can used the card left from the cut out on the inside of your card to write on.

I'll be posting more Christmas card ideas in the next few weeks. In fact there's another one tomorrow.

See you then!
