Stampin' Up! Awesomely Artistic card with faux tearing

Stampin' Up! Awesomely Artistic card, faux tearing

I wanted the keep the colours simple on this card as there is quite a lot going on with the stamps and punches. I've used just two colours - Mint Macaron and Tip Top Taupe, with the design being stamped on to Very Vanilla card stock.

The stamp set I've used is Awesomely Artistic (apart from the senitment). I love the dragonfly, which I cut out to add some depth to the card.

The technique I've used is called Faux Tearing - I tore a piece of scrap card and lay it on the Very Vanilla card stock about half way across, then sponged on some Tip Top Taupe to create a torn edge look. Then I stamped the design, and added the sentiment and decoration on the blank piece of card.

Quite effective I think.

Look out for more stamping techniques in posts over the next couple of months.

Stampin' Up! Wild About Flowers retirement card

Stampin' Up! Wild About Flowers card

I knew I'd love this stamp set as soon as I saw it in the new catalogue! I might not use all the sentiments but I know I'll use the flower stamps again and again. These are two step stamps, so you can add the flowers in a different colour.

There are so many possibilities for all the stamps from Wild About Flowers. Here I've just used one set of flowers, but there are another two in the set. The sentiment is also from the set.

The background is the large Hardwood stamp. And I couldn't resist adding a couple of punched butterflies from the Papillon Potpourri set to finish it off.

Stampin' Up! Flower Patch card - Happy Blooming Birthday!

Stampin' Up! Flower Patch card - Happy Blooming Birthday!

Stampin' Up! Flower Patch card, Happy Blooming Birthday

Have you ever bought a stamp set that you thought you really wanted, and then, when it was in your hands, not known what to do with it?

That was what happened with the Flower Patch stamp set. I loved the cards I'd seen made with it, but found it difficult to reproduce them.

But I've come back to it, and now I love it as much as I thought I would.

Stampin' Up! Flower Patch, Happy Blooming Birthday

A couple of tips for you. The larger stamps can be hard to get even ink coverage on. If you use the Stampin' Pierce Mat under your paper you'll get even pressure on your stamping, and also try to use ink pads that aren't too juicy - Stampin' Up ink pads can be very juicy to start with.

Anyway, this is the card I made for starters - I love the Happy Blooming Birthday sentiment!

I've used Rose Red card stock and Rose Red, Blushing Bride and Blackberry Bliss inks. And I added a couple of punched Itty butterflies to finish it off.

There are some framelits (Flower Fair framelits) that go with the stamp set that I haven't used yet, but when I do, you'll definitely be seeing the results.

Don't forget that if you're in the Central Brittany area and you'd like to have a party, and have a go at making cards yourself, you can contact me HERE. And if you think you'd like to have a go at being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator yourself, I'd love to have you on my team!

Stampin' Up! Vintage style gift tags using Petite Petals and Itty Bitty Accents flowers

Stampin' Up! Vintage style gift tags

I love vintage style things, but oddly don't make many of them, so today I thought I'd change that! Don't these gift tags look lovely? I think they'd make any gift feel special before you'd even opened it.

The base is Very Vanilla, and I've used the script stamp from By The Tide then punched out four flowers using the Petite Petals and Itty Bitty Accents punches. I attached them using foam pads to add some dimension to the tags.

The tags are punched using the Scalloped Tag Topper punch, and I've also used the Dotted Lace Trim for the ribbon bit. The ink I've used throughout, including the sponging is Tip Tip Taupe.

Altogether splendid I think! (she said modestly)

Hope you like them, there are of course lots of different versions you could make using this idea, and I'm sure you'll be seeing some more from me.

Stampin' Up! Papillon Potpourri mini Thank You cards

Stampin' Up! Thank You cards Papillon Potpourri

Some of you are aware that I as well as being a Stampin' Up! demo, I also have two shops on Etsy. One is my main vintage shop, and I have also opened a card shop - after I've made all these cards I have to do something with them!

When someone from my vintage shop buys something I send them a Stampin' Up! Thank You card with their item so I thought you might like to see some.

Stampin' Up! Papillon Potpourri cards

I make different cards all the time, and also sell them in my card shop. They're quite small so I can get 4 from a sheet of A4 card. For these I used the Papillon Potpourri stamp set, and Rose Red cardstock so that I can use a silver pen to write my Thank You note.

If you'd like to visit, my vintage shop is MaisonMaudie and my card shop MaudieMaudie

Stampin' Up! By the Tide part 2

Stampin' Up! By the Tide card

When I posted a couple of cards last week featuring the By the Tide stamp set I mentioned that there was also a lobster stamp that I hadn't used.

Well, here he is in all his glory! I've used just two colours on this card - Watermelon Wonder and Tempting Turquoise. I've stamped onto Very Vanilla - I'm favouring that over Whisper White at the moment, and used Kraft cardstock for the base.

Stampin' Up! By the Tide

I've used the large oval punch and scallop oval punch for the Happy Birthday sentiment, and sponged around them both.

I think this stamp set makes great cards for men, and I've another design up my sleeve for later in the month.

Here's a reminder of last week's cards -

Stampin Up! Build a Birthday card

Stampin' Up! build a birthday

Hello, I hope you are all well, and coping with the hot weather and accompanying thunderstorms we are having in Northern Europe at the moment!

Today I have gone back to the Build a Birthday stamp set. I wanted to make a card with slightly more subtle colours. I also used some of the new In Colour lace and cut it to fit the bottom of the cake stand.

Stampin' Up! Build a Birthday

Add a couple of butterflies, and voilĂ , there you have it! The blue background DSP is from the Cherry on Top 6 x 6 stack - love it.

I used foam pads to stick everything on to add some dimension.

You might remember that I used the cake layers as candles not long ago - a versatile stamp set indeed!
